it is of the form x^2 + 10x - 3  

= x^2 + 2 ( 5 ) ( x ) - 3

to make it a perfect square we will add 25 as well subract 25

= x^2 + 2 ( 5 ) ( x ) + 25 - 25 -3

=x^2 + 2 (5) (x) + (5)^2  - 28

= ( x + 5) ^ 2 - 28
